Cyrus

There is a popular belief that Donald Trump is the anti-type of Cyrus the Great. Others have proposed the less popular idea that Vladimir Putin might be Cyrus. Who is the coming Cyrus, should he come at all?

The following dissertation goes through the Books of the Bible and pieces together the role of Cyrus past and future. We will see his accomplishments as well as his short-comings.

CYRUS THE GREAT: HIS TRUE IDENTITY

Isaiah 45:1-7 “This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: [2] I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. [3] I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. [4] For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me. [5] I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, [6] so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. [7] I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.”

In verses four and five, however, God states that Cyrus does not acknowledge Him, despite God bestowing honor on Cyrus; giving him hidden treasures; and the power to subdue nations and level mountains. Yet Cyrus has not known God.

This is true in regards to Cyrus the Great who was titled King of Kings; King of the Four Corners of the World. He was king over: Persia, Media, Babylon, Sumer and Akkad, and Anshan also called Elam. His empire expanded vastly under his reign, stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the Indus River. Territorial-wise, the Achaemenid Empire was larger than Roman Empire.

It is unknown whether or not Cyrus practiced any specific religion; however Zarathustra’s teachings seem to reflect themselves in his acts and policies. For example: Cyrus’ policies toward minority religions were that of respect and tolerance. Besides setting the Jews free and decreeing their temple should be rebuilt, Cyrus also kept his armies away from Babylonian temples and restored the statues of Babylonian gods to their rightful sanctuaries. He did like manner with the Jews by returning the temple articles which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem. (Ezra 1:7)

The Jews saw Cyrus as a righteous and honorable king. The Lord states in Isaiah 45:13 “I have raised him up in righteousness and I will direct his ways; he shall rebuild My city and let my exiles for free, not for price or reward.”

Continuing in verse 14, the Lord further says of Cyrus that: “The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans—they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you, coming over to you in chains.”

Let’s pause for one moment. Reread that verse: “The products of EGYPT; the merchandise of CUSH; the Sabeans shall be YOURS”. There is a problem with this: historically, Cyrus the Great never entered into Egypt nor did he invade Cush.

Modern day Cush is thought to be located in Southern Egypt, Ethiopia, and Southern Sudan. However, Cush can also mean the territory of Northern India, eg: the Hindu Cush Mountains. In this definition Cyrus the Great DID reach into that Cush. The Indian King sent him an embassy of money that historians believe was a form of tribute. However, Nearchus an admiral under Alexander the Great writes that Cyrus’ Indian conquest was a failure. According to Ctesias, Cyrus was killed during a battle with Indians. With conflicting information from different ancient writers it is difficult to determine the extent of Cyrus’ accomplishments in India.

The Sabeans are Southern Arabia, particularly Yemen. The Archaemenid Empire never reached into Saudi Arabia or its southern component: Yemen

Persian Empire

Cyrus’ son and successor Cambyses II, however, did capture Egypt by defeating Pharaoh Psamtik III at the Battle of Pelusium. From there he went onto Memphis. While he did attempt to campaign against the Kingdom of Cush, the campaign was unsuccessful. Due to lack of food and supplies his army had to turn around and consequently never entered into Cush.

The Cushites never paid tribute to Persia; however, they did send them gifts of gold, ebony and elephant tusks. It has also been documented by Herodotus and other Greek reporters that part of the Persian army was composed of Cushite archers. The relationship between Persia and Cush does not appear to have been one of oppression, but rather friendly.

If Cyrus (let alone his son) did not accomplish all these feats then God, therefore, cannot be talking about him in verse 14. Interestingly, this verse does coincide with Ezekiel’s account regarding the King of Babylon conquering Egypt. Let’s read:

Ezekiel 30:3 “For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. [4] A sword will come upon Egypt, and anguish will be in Ethiopia; when the slain fall in Egypt, they take away her wealth, and her foundations are torn down. [5] Cush [Sudan/Ethiopia] and Libya, Lydia [Modern Day Turkey] and all Arabia, Kub [Libyans] and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.”

Ezekiel goes on to say that:

“Thus saith the Lord God; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. [11] He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain. [12] And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I the Lord have spoken it.”

Let’s pause one more time. First off, the chapter opens with ‘The Day of the Lord is near’. This immediately projects us into the future. We can be sure of this because the rivers of Egypt have not dried up and two: Nebuchadnezzar II did not conquer Egypt and lay it waste.

Although he defeated the Egyptians in the Battle of Carchemish and they paid tributary to him henceforth, historians claim that there is very little evidence that Nebuchadnezzar II entered the territory of Egypt west of the Sinai Peninsula and Red Sea

.neo-babylonian-empire - Jewish Exile - Chosen people of the Demiurge - Books of Foundation - Peter Crawford

And Egypt certainly wasn’t destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar II so thoroughly as Ezekiel recounts:

“I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph (Memphis); and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt. [14] And I will make Pathros (Upper Egypt) desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No (Thebes). [15] And I will pour my fury upon Sin (Pelusium), the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. [16] And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Noph shall have distresses daily. [17] The young men of Aven (On) and of Pi-Beseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity. [18] At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. [23] And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

Aside from the fact Nebuchadnezzar II did not cause the strength of Egypt to cease; the Egyptians were not taken into captivity and dispersed throughout the countries either. And neither did Nebuchadnezzar invade Ethiopia.
Pelusium Pelusium

When Cambyses II invaded Egypt in 525 BC and became Pharaoh: Pelusium; Zoan; Memphis; Pi-Beseth; Thebes; and On were not destroyed. In fact, although the Persians held Egypt in their hand, the Egyptians would eventually rebel against their authority and establish the twenty-eighth, the twenty-ninth and the thirtieth dynasties. However they could never fully shake off the Persians and their independence was once again comprised when Artaxerxes III re-conquered Egypt in 343 BC. Persian control was short-lived, however, when by 332 BC, the Persians handed Egypt over to Alexander the Great without a fight. From the thirty-first dynasty onwards, Egypt would be ruled by the Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Ottomans, the British before Arabs regained control of the territory.

Less than 1% of modern-day Egyptians can trace their roots back to the ancient Pharaohs. The Ancient Egyptians are lost, as is their empire.

Since Isaiah’s account and Ezekiel’s account mirror each other, and Ezekiel lets us know that this is a future event, we may safely assume Cyrus the Great is synonymous with Nebuchadnezzar. After all, Cyrus did hold the title King of Babylon.

If Bible prophesies are true, then we can expect the anti-type of Cyrus and Nebuchadnezzar to lead a major military campaign into the middle-east and subdue the nations of Egypt; Libya; Turkey; Saudi Arabia; Yemen; Sudan; and Ethiopia.

And we can go another step further to prove this.

Daniel 11:41 He (The King of the North) shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon [Jordan]. [42] He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. [43] But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. [44] But tidings out of the east [China] and out of the north [Russia] shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. [45] And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

Daniel’s account rhymes with that of Isaiah’s and Ezekiel’s. The identity of Cyrus is unveiled: he is no other than the Beast Power; the King of Babylon; the King of the North.

ASSYRIA: THE ROD OF MY ANGER

The Beast Power campaigns into Turkey and Saudi Arabia. This biblical fact proves that the Beast Power does not come from the aforementioned countries. The fact that he invades these predominately Muslim nations and destroys them so completely, and the men who come to fight against him shall fall by the sword tells us that the Beast Power’s personal religion or religious affiliations are NOT Islamic.

I’ve touched on the ethnicity of the Beast Power in a previous article, but I will discuss it once more for the sake of clarity.

Nahum 1:11-15From you, Nineveh, has one come forth who plots evil against the Lord and devises wicked plans. [12] This is what the Lord says: “Although they have allies and are numerous, they will be destroyed and pass away. Although I have afflicted you, Judah, I will afflict you no more. [13] Now I will break their yoke from your neck and tear your shackles away.” [14] The Lord has given a command concerning you, Nineveh: “You will have no descendants to bear your name. I will destroy the images and idols that are in the temple of your gods. I will prepare your grave, for you are vile.” [15] Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.”

Nahum is prophesying against the Assyrian capital of Nineveh and states clearly that from Nineveh comes one who plots evil against the Lord. We can be sure that this a futuristic prophesy because we see that Judah will be afflicted no more—they have been redeemed. Verse 15 especially gives us a glimpse of a future setting in which Christ is standing on the Mount of Olives, bringing with him the Good News of the Kingdom of God (for he will set up the Kingdom when he comes) and he is our Prince of Peace. (Zechariah 14:4; Luke 4:43; Isaiah 9:6)

In 5 short verses, Nahum shows us the three character profiles common in most story books: the antagonist; the damsel in distress; and the Hero. The Antagonist being the Anti-Christ/Beast; the damsel being Judah/Jerusalem and all the people’s of the world; the Hero, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Continuing:

Isaiah 10:5Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger and the staff in whose hands is My indignation, [6] I send it against a godless nation and commission it against the people of My fury to capture booty and to seize plunder, and to trample them down like mud in the streets. [12] So it will be that when the Lord has completed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, He will say, “I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the pomp of his haughtiness.” [13] For he has said, “By the power of my hand and by my wisdom I did this, For I have understanding; And I removed the boundaries of the peoples And plundered their treasures, and like a mighty man I brought down their inhabitants, [14] And my hand reached to the riches of the peoples like a nest, and as one gathers abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth; and there was not one that flapped its wing or opened its beak or chirped.” [15] Is the axe to boast itself over the one who chops with it? Is the saw to exalt itself over the one who wields it?”

The arrogant heart of the Assyrian claims five times that he accomplished the great acts listed above. God then responds can the axe boast itself over the one who chops it—making it clear that the Assyrian is nothing more than a tool which God uses. The notion in this verse follows the theme in Isaiah 45:9 “Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’?” But notice that Isaiah 45:9 follows the statements regarding Cyrus.

Whether this is a coincidence or not, it’s worth mentioning that the HEART of the Assyrian says ‘I’ five times in regards to the deeds he thinks he has accomplished without giving God any due credit. Interestingly, Satan says ‘I’ five times as well, as it is recorded in Isaiah 14:12 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! [13] For thou hast said in thine HEART, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: [14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. [15] Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Only a few verses later, in 21, we read:

Prepare for his sons a place of slaughter because of the iniquity of their fathers. They must not arise and take possession of the earth and fill the face of the world with cities. [22] For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from BABYLON the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord. [23] I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the Lord of hosts. [24] The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: [25] That I will break the ASSYRIAN in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

Verse 22 repeats what Nahum says in 1:14 about his descendants being cut off.

In my previous article I discuss the connection between Babylon and the Assyrian; it’s worth noting that Isaiah 23:13 shows us a picture of that affiliation as well: “Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.”

This verse could be in reference to Prince Trebeta and Trier; however that is only this author’s speculation. Please see ‘The Final Time-Line: Puzzle Piece # 4’ for further details regarding Prince Trebeta and Trier. The aforementioned section also discusses the Assyrian’s connection with Germany, which is worth reading to understand future statements this author will be making.

If readers are still in doubt about the Beast Power being Assyrian, here is one more set of scriptural comparisons for your consideration:

Isaiah 30:19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. (Rev. 21:4) [31] For through the voice of the Lord shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; [4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. [8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.

In the context of Christ’s return, Isaiah mentions that by the voice of the Lord the Assyrian will be beaten down. Paul adds a significant detail in that the man of sinthe Anti-Christ is he who will be consumed by the spirit of the Lord’s mouth, complimenting Isaiah’s account and revealing the Assyrian’s true identity and repeating the fate in which he will suffer: being destroyed by the spirit of the Lord’s mouth. Notice that: THE SPIRIT of his mouth. What is the spirit of one’s mouth, except their voice?

HIS PURPOSE IS TO DESTROY

Jonathan Cahn made famous in The Harbinger the scripture located in Isaiah 9:10 “The bricks have fallen down, but we will replace them with hewn stone; the sycamores have been cut down but we will replace them with cedars.”

Many people agree that this verse was prophetic of the 9/11 attacks. If the verse does correlate with the tragic event that took place in 2001 (which this author believes it does) then this prophesy regards America, and all we need to do is read further to see what else we can expect to unfold in the U.S.A.

I will leave it to the readers to carefully read through Isaiah 9:11-21. I’d like to point out that with verse 9 being fulfilled on American soil and these subsequent prophecies being a continuation of that verse, Israel who is mentioned from henceforth is not the modern-day nation of Israel. Just as there is a prophetic Cyrus, there is a prophetic Israel: America.

How does one conclude the House of Israel and America are one in the same? The answer is in the proceeding verses: Isaiah 9:8-9 “The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, the bricks are fallen down. . . .”

God sent a word to JACOB—not to Judah. Ephraim was located in the Northern Kingdom of Israel. Ephraim was the seat of authority, housing the royal families, and Samaria was the capital city.

It’s a common misconception that all Israelites are Jews. Jews come from the tribe of Judah granted, with a few Benjamites and Levites mixed in. There are still ten more tribes that compose the people whom God refers to as the House of Israel or Jacob. These tribes are: Asher, Dan, Gad, Zebulon, Naphtali, Issachar, Reuben, Simeon, Ephraim and Manasseh. These ten broke away from Judah after the death of Solomon in c. 930 B.C. and formed the Northern Kingdom of Israel. However, roughly two hundred years later in 721 B.C., these ten were carried away captive BY THE ASSYRIANS.

At the time of Cyrus the Great, these ten tribes had already been scattered and he was only dealing with the Southern Kingdom of Judah—the Jews—who had been taken during the Babylonian captivity. This historical fact is important because we read in Isaiah 45:4 “For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you [Cyrus] by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me.”

The Cyrus who is yet to come will be summoned for JACOB’S sake—for ALL of Israel—not just for Judah.

God claims to Israel [All Twelve Tribes] “And I will make thy descendants to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy descendants all these countries; and in thy descendants shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.”

This verse uses the word ‘descendants’ plural, and they will be innumerable. They will rule over countries and bless where-ever they go. Aside from Great Britain and America, no other country has blessed the other nations of the world so extensively with new technologies to improve hygiene, to improve transportation, and make available new platforms to access knowledge and so much more. “God Bless America”, is the patriotic saying. However, it would also be accurate to say, “God Blessed America” long ago in Abraham’s time.

Of course there are some who insist that America is Babylon. This is not true. America may appear Babylonian-ish, but remember that Israel had a problem turning away from God and adopting pagan religions, systems of government, and adopting all forms of immoral conduct. It is for this reason the Assyrians removed Israel out of their land and carried them captive.

Interestingly, The Great Tribulation is synonymous with Jacob’s Trouble. (Jeremiah 30:7) It isn’t called Judah’s Trouble. That is because all the tribes who’ve been scattered across the ends of the earth will endure the Tribulation, and there are many Jews and Israelites (though they do not realize they are Israelites) living in America in this present day.

Orthodox Jews, such as Yair Davidiy have done extensive research locating where these ten tribes of Israel migrated to and finally settled. For those interested you can visit Davidiy’s website at britam.org.

For now we will continue with the understanding that Isaiah 9:10 is in regards to America as are the subsequent prophecies. Let’s reread: Isaiah 10:6 I will send him [The Assyrian] against an hypocritical nation [Nation is in the Singular = America], and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. [7] Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.

The above verse is interesting, in that, the Assyrian comes against America. Just as the Assyrians had come against Israel in 721 BC as punishment for adopting pagan ways, the Assyrian will send his army against the House of Israel once more.
However it states that the Assyrian does not mean to take the spoil or prey or tread them down. At the end of Isaiah 9, we read “Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother. [20] And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm.”

Before the Assyrian (or his armies) arrive, America will endure a period of violence and famine. It is of interest then that the Lord says later in Isaiah 10:20 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of JACOB, shall no more again stay upon him [the Assyrian] that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. [21] The remnant shall return, even the remnant of JACOB, unto the mighty God.

The House of Jacob stays upon—meaning to lean, to lie, to rest or to rely on—the Assyrian. Jacob, which includes the tribe of Judah, will—at least for a short time—rely on the Assyrian. Which means the Assyrian will be thought of as a good and honorable man. After all, we see that the Lord bestows honor upon him. People of today consider the prophetic Cyrus to be an exalted, righteous figure. This coincides with the statement in Revelation 13:3 in that “The whole world will wonder after the beast.”

The same way the Jews of the past saw Cyrus the Great as a righteous leader, the Jews of today will also see the prophetic Cyrus as an ally, even as an anointed ruler. The coming Cyrus will—just as his pro-type did—decree the temple to be rebuilt.

BABYLON

‘Anointed’ as used in Isaiah 45:1 comes from the Hebrew: mashiyach, meaning a consecrated person (a king, priest or saint); specifically the MESSIAH.

Cyrus the Great is portrayed as a royal savior who will destroy Israel’s oppressor: Babylon. God, though Cyrus, will redeem his servant Jacob [Is. 48:20] and usher in the millennium [Is. 65:17].\

While Cyrus the Great did conquer Babylon, he did not ‘destroy’ it, in the sense of complete and utter annihilation. And while he decreed the temple to be rebuilt, Jacob was not redeemed.

The Cyrus prophesied to come will replicate the acts of his prototype. Let’s read:

Isaiah 47:1 “Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter [also: city] of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. [8] Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: [9] But these two things shall come to thee in a moment [also: a wink of the eyes] in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments. [11] [E]vil [shall] come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know. [13] Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. [14] Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. [16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon THE BEAST, these SHALL HATE THE WHORE, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, AND BURN HER WITH FIRE.

Revelation 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. [2] And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. [5] For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. [8] Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and SHE SHALL UTTERLY BE BURNED WITH FIRE: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. [9] And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, [10] Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

One point to make is Babylon is a city, not a country. The term ‘virgin daughter’ as recorded in Isaiah 47 can also be translated as a city or town. This chapter follows on the heels of the Cyrus prophesy, and echoes the fate of Babylon in Revelation.

The account of Babylon burning is alarming when God states that her desolation will come suddenly; in a wink of an eye; in a moment; in one hour. It’s not a coal of fires to be warmed by or a flame to sit before. The whole earth will be lightened by great power, and merchants will stand afar for fear of the fire’s torment.

It’s not a novel idea to suggest that this could be a nuclear detonation. The smoke of her burning must be so visible and portray such devastation that those far away recognize the utter annihilation. A mushroom cloud is indeed the smoke of nuclear burning and very recognizable. Also, ‘the fear of her torment’ may be referencing the fear of the radiation the bomb would emit.

In Revelation 18:16, the ten horns or the ten toes as described in Daniel are the ten nations that are under the Beast’s control and they will hate Babylon, and burn her with this fire. However, if the Beast has charge over these nations. If this is a nuclear detonation, only he can give the nuclear launch codes, which means the Beast will also come to hate Babylon.

The City of Babylon is sits on seven hills. (Rev. 17.9) This is both figurative and literally, but for the time being we will only discuss the latter.

There are four sites that religious scholars have focused in on as possible locations for the End-Time Babylon. These sites are Rome, Italy; Constantinople, Turkey; Mecca, Saudi Arabia; Jerusalem, Israel.

However, the Beast Power invades and lays waste to both Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and he does this before the abomination of desolation takes place and before the fall of Babylon. Neither of these two locations could be the End-Time Babylon. Jerusalem can’t be the location, either, because Christ returns to the Mount of Olives and gathers the armies to Jerusalem to fight them. (Zechariah 14:2) When we read through revelation, Babylon is destroyed prior to Christ’s return. So that leaves only Rome.

Revelation 18:23-24 “And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.”

These verses reveal Babylon as a religious entity or organization in that Babylon partakes in spiritualism and sorcery. Babylon has put to death the prophets and the saints. None of these things has America done. Indeed, it is for our godlessness that America will be destroyed.

Much more can be said about Babylon the Great the Mother of Harlots, but that will be a subject for another time. For now you can check out the website: Who Is The Whore Of Babylon

What is the Fate of Cyrus
Answer:

  • Christ Will Destroy Him (Daniel 8:25; 2 Thessalonians 2:3)
  • He Will Have No Descendants to Bear His Name (Isaiah 14:22; Nahum 1:14)

In closing, when a man steps forward to rebuild the temple and fulfill the role of Cyrus, do not be deceived by his good works nor follow after him. He will appear Messiah-like, but he is a counterfeit. Anything that has been counterfeited appears genuine and is easily accepted. It is a very difficult thing to separate the imitation from the authentic.
His purpose is to fulfill God’s Will, and God’s will is to break the nations asunder and to cut off evil; to destroy false religion; to humble the proud-hearted and break the stiff-neck.

Christ is returning, but before he does he will cleanse the earth of all evil, of all filth. He will set nation against nation; evil will battle evil. By Cyrus he will fulfill all things.

Matthew 26:24 “The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.”

John 17:12 “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name: those that you gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.”
